Where Do I Sell My Clothes? Step 5 - Find Your Sales Platform

This post is the fifth in a series of posts designed by TPS to help you declutter your wardrobe and get it resale ready. Here we have put together a guide of different businesses that sell secondhand Pakistani designer clothes.

Where Do I Sell My Clothes? Step 5 - Find Your Sales Platform

You’ve done all the work, but knowing where to sell is the most important step of all. Your platform for selling will determine whether and/or how quickly your pieces sell.

The answer to finding the best sales platform for you depends on where you live, and how much effort do you want to put in. While local consignments stores  are a great option for Western brands, the options for Pakistani designer wear are nearly non-existent.

A few things to look for when considering a sales platform are:

  • Ease of listing - The easier it is for you to get your pieces listed with minimal effort, the more likely it is that you will use it more.
  • Easy navigation - Buyers need to be able to find and view multiple listings so there is a better chance of sales. A platform that allows for quick and easy navigation for buyers is also optimal for sellers!
  • Network - How many people the platform can reach will increase your chance of sales. Most platforms in the secondhand Pakistani market are quite young, but quickly growing!
  • Product Variety - Choosing a platform that is right for your specific product is so important! Take a quick look at the brands carried by the platform. This will give you a good idea of whether your produt is likely to sell. For example, if a platform sells Elan or Suffuse, chances are it already has the audience to sell a Hussain Rehar piece.
  • Consignment Tracking - If you’re the kind of seller who obsesses about keeping track of your listings, selling on a platform that allows to you to view your products and comissions will put your mind at ease.
  • Customer Service - Being able to receive a quick and friendly response from the team behind the platform is key especially when things go awry. If this is important to you, reach out to the platform ahead of listing your pieces to get a feel for the quality of their customer care.
