Getting Ready to Post: Step 4 - The measuring tape is a handy tool

You don’t want someone to be stuck with a piece that doesn’t fit. Even if it has a size tag.

Please remember most brands (especially Pakistani brands) vary a lot in sizes. A size Small in one brand is an XS in another. Having precise measurements will allow your buyer to shop with confidence.

The areas you need to measure are:

  • Chest - 2 or 3  inches below underarms
  • Hip - This is especially on long straight shirts. These are not curvy women friendly
  • Trouser waist - Elasticated trousers are forgiving. Belted trousers need to be measured exactly.
  • Trouser thighs - This one is big because trousers from Ready-to-Wear  (RTW) collections can run tight in this area for many women
  • Trouser length - Now don’t assume we’re all 5’3, even if we are.

Did you know?
In Pakistan, the measuring tape is commonly known as the inchee tape.
“Yaar woh inchee tape pakrana zara!”
Now you know.

Make sure to measure in Inches, with your inchee tape.

This is a good time to pack away your clothes properly. Fold them neatly, and place in a garment bag or a box so it is ready to ship when it sells!

On to Step 5!
